The Ballot and Democracy Under Attack

The following was written by a friend, critical thinker, and clear communicator. I think John Antonetti’s words are important for us to hear right now. Someone recently said that whatever we’re doing right now is what we’ll one day tell our kids we were doing when democracy was being destroyed. It’s time to speak up! ~Kindly

John’s ballots prior to being filled out

Call me a political geek. Call me a patriot. I always get excited and even a bit emotional when my ballots arrive. (I have voted absentee for the past three presidential elections because of my travel/work schedule.) I intentionally did not watch the news tonight so I could continue to think about my ability to cast my vote and what a great honor and right that is.

And then I hear it. The President of the United States said our “ballots are out of control. The ballots are a hoax.” Hell, no, sir. You are out of control. Your presidency is a hoax. (Sorry, neither one of us is using that word correctly!) The ballots are the life blood of this Republic. Of our Democracy. A Republic that was designed and maintained for over two centuries, but in fewer than 4 years is on the verge of becoming some twisted combination of oligarchy and fascist state.

When asked if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power after the election, the President. Of. The. United. States. said,”We’ll have to see what happens. You know that. I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster. And.. get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful, there wont be a transfer, frankly, there will be a continuation.”

Again, the President of the United States advocated publicly for a dictatorship. May God help us! ~ John
