Response to a scam

To whom it may concern, 

I apologize that my mother has not responded to your repeated appeal for funds. After searching for information about Police Officers Support Association, we determined that we would indeed adjust the amount of our monthly payment as you recommended in your letter. The new amount will be $0. We are following your directions and forwarding this amount in the envelope. We trust that our response will be efficiently handled by your business location at the UPS Store in Wauwatosa, WI. If you would like us to continue this monthly amount, keep sending your letter, and we will respond accordingly.

Thank you so much for doing your part to clutter the world with scams that do not benefit those they claim to assist, reducing funds available for real needs. It must be gratifying to invest effort in preying on elderly ladies who have given their lives in the authentic service to others.

Update: When I shared my message with the contact email listed on the letter, I received this. Evidently everyone is on vacation….

We have received your response.  If you would like your mother’s name
removed from our list we certainly will do so – we would need her name,
address and telephone number.  The Wisconsin location is simply a
processing center; however we understand you are uncomfortable with the
process and respect your wishes.
