I came across this graphic immediately after the Senate voted not to support President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to gain funding for a wall on the southern border.
Maybe folks labeled as traitors by some actually want to reassert the balance of power between the branches of government, an important concept found in our U.S. Constitution. They also might be in favor of multiple strategies (some involving modern technology) to secure the borders rather than a focus on the wall which, according to repeated promises, was to be paid for by Mexico.
It is sad to see political differences so quickly defined as extremes where no negotiation can occur. If I’m not for President Trump’s wall, I must want open borders, which is not true. If a senator votes against the president’s national emergency, he/she must be a traitor.
