Conservatives increasingly believe education is bad for America according to data collected by the Pew Research Center.
“Why does a kid go to a major university these days?” said Frank Antenori, 51, a former Green Beret who served in the Arizona state legislature. “A lot of Republicans would say they go there to get brainwashed and learn how to become activists and basically go out in the world and cause trouble.”
Yes, Mr. Antenori! Truth without intending to speak it! I agree that higher education should make us into activists who go out into the world and cause trouble!
This has been true to my experience. I became an activist for the needs of those I worked with and sometimes caused trouble by speaking up. In fact, the more education I gained (not always college), the more I spoke out. No apologies, my only regrets are for not speaking up more often!
We need more, not less, education today. Thank you Frank Antenori for making the point even though you were speaking against higher education.
